Is your new tent two years old also as you could wrap that around the spark plugs to see if it’s waterproof?

stop whining, Eric ... get your camping gear off the bike ... whittle it down to bare minimum, eg, tent, thin bed, bag, cooker, utensils, food ... strap it onto one of your reliable bikes .....
... and get going
first thing in the morning.
theres cafes to supplement your cooking, along the way.
cheap camp sites .. good weather .... FAB 8-) 8-)

Remember those days of a tent wrapped in a bin liner on the back seat 😂
Gotta be a bit of room, even if it’s cramped 👍
