Re: Tax on electric bikes
It's all linked in to massive global scams .. cost of lockdown, Mr madeoff, global warming, green agenda, covid jabs, prescribed drugs, ppe, global cost of local oil, car tax, vat, death tax, .. Mr putin also knows all these scams and is weaponising it all ... ww3 for example has already started but US is afraid to nuke Russia as its more afraid of China.. I going out on bike quick now

Re: Tax on electric bikes
Mate of mine plugged his into one of those forecourt chargers...put £40 in. Got back in the car, went to drive off...saw his range had increased by an incredible 26 miles.
My theory is that they use discretionary charging...the charger 'sees' how empty you batteries are, and what the local availability of charging points is, then adjusts itself to fleece you accordingly.
There's a Guy Martin video on youtube where he drives some electric contraption to John O Groats, one of the chargers in particular absolutely fleeces him. At the end of the journey he calculates that his electric costs are more than he would have paid for diesel in his van in the same journey.
My sister has an electric car and has all but given up using her home charger it costs so much now. She's in the fortunate position of having use of a diesel car too, most of the time, so the electric car just gets charged very slowly via a 3-pin plug when the sun is shining and her solar panels would otherwise be 'exporting to the grid'
She's lucky if she gets 100 miles out of a charge now, even in Eco mode. The car has leased batteries, and the manufacturer says they don't need replacing.
So as things stand, electric cars are an expensive luxury. The don't save money, and they won't save the planet.
According to Emissions Analytics (the researchers who uncovered the original VW Dieselgate) the best new car for low environmental impact over its whole life is a small or medium Euro 6 diesel. The sheer size and weight of most battery cars outweighs any advantage there may be from zero exhaust emissions. Serial school truant Greta is best ignored.

2-3000 mile European bikes tours will be out as people cannot afford the petrolBilly Bananahead wrote:It's looking grim but the 12p per litre increase in fuel duty is only a proposition.garyboy wrote: ↑Fri Nov 18, 2022 3:15 amUp to 165 for ev cars and up to 290 for ev vans per year .. to gain an extra ved 1.6 billion for government.
Plus an extra 6 billion to be gained from 12p per litre govt duty rise on petrol and diesel..
Both by April next year, planned .
(Bikes to be totally banned by Xmas, prison for anyone even thinking about 2 wheels .. ok, not this bit)
4 months left till the poorest of us are priced off the roads .. plus general ruin of the UK economy if these go through.
I expect these will be delayed till past the next election.. for Labour.
The majority of people won't be able to afford to go to work by car or van, and they are the people that the twat wants to buy the fuel, so it'll be a rethink for the Tories and maybe 5p would be more like it but still too much.
Either way, we're doomed.

Re: Tax on electric bikes
I remember Bike magazine doing a test of that gargantuan Harley LiveWire thing and saying it was best at nipping around London.
Well, I think the Honda Innova represents a better choice, going on the above.
One also won the best special test Trophy at the recent Tamar trial!

WOW. Some people really need to start wearing their tinfoil hat.
The best bike for nipping around London would be the new BMW electric scooter. Not price wise but for speed and efficiency.

Re: Tax on electric bikes
with the electrical charging of vehicles, I am wondering if leaving the battery too low before recharging is causing a greater emf (voltage pressure) to overcome initialising such a low ionic potential? .. harder to Start injecting with ions to overcome the back flux? becoming faster and easier as the charge gradient decreases?
I bet recharging at say half load all the time, is cheaper?
ps .. tinfoil hats are recommended at all proximities to electrical energy in flux as there is interference with the synapses in nerve cells especially within the brain cortex and prefontal lobes ... if you turn around quickly and repeatedly while the car is charging, you will still be able to think straight
.. unfortunately, this could be subliminally very taxing.

In the same vein, lead boots should always be worn in bed if watching porn.
They prevent the cringing up of your toes through electrical induction and empathic vibration.
The lead boots also come in handy for muff diving
