i bought a Tiger 955i because i wanted an adventure bike but not a GS and loved it, five years later sold the Tigger and bought a 1200GS and thought i should have bought this five years ago ! superb bike.
Hope you enjoy it.

In 2008 I bought an 07 with 6k on it, lots of bikes have temporarily taken it's place but it is the only one to remain, now on 60k. Not the lightest, latest or fastest but it just does everything I need.

I was 16 in 1980 and saw an R80gs in a showroom window and lusted. When the 1100 came out I was in love.
In 1998 I could just about afford one but a test ride left me totally underwhelmed. At this time the press were slagging them from a height - apart from Kevin Ash (RIP).
Arriving back from the test ride a guy pulled up to the showroom on a fully loaded 1100, he looked at me and asked if it was my bike - I said “test ride” - he said “buy it”. Apparently he’d just come back from the Alps and had been riding rings around sports bikes.
I bought it on looks and his recommendation.
Took me ages to get used to it but the bike just got better and better - it was at it’s peak at 80K miles - I do not jest.
I sold it with 180K miles on the clock and bought a 1200 twin cam.
People slag them because of Charlie and Ewan and/or an hours test ride but they really are great bikes - not withstanding that there are lots of other great bikes out there.
