Car scrapping subsidy - why not motorcycles?

I see the Government's £2000 car scrapping scheme is kicking in today where the Gov gives £1000 and the manufacturers the other half as an intensive for the owners of 10 year old cars to trade them in.

True to form, the launch is backfiring on our ever so efficient Westminster bunglers with Honda and Ford instructing dealers not to participate.

That aside, isn't this a case of the tax payer subsidising foreign car companies and why hasn't this been extended to cover motorcycles – a far more environment friendly move don't you think?
