The fuel gauge on my wifes T7 is fairly crap, same as Mark, 60-70miles and one bar down, then showing 1 bar at around 150 miles, fill up and it takes just over half a tank.
Very economical on fuel though, strangely my 701 is still better on fuel on the same ride.

I’ve just posted a couple of For Sale threads if anyone’s interested.

SW Motech bar risers and a DB Moto tail tidy both to fit the Tenere 700.

A new rear yss shock that is very similar to one Nethen had a few years ago but with a different top mount for the z not r model and my weight spring fitted.. 2 days turnaround and just short of £300 is very nice too.... Just need to sneak out to work via a couple of local trails testing of coarse..

This rear compliments the front yss pd valves and recent dr650 ktech springs...
Thanks to this kind sir i got all the needed info and got my YSS rear shock and YSS PD fork valves.
Ohlins linear forks springs where in but when the PD valves got in i follow the settings mr Tramp sent me, it's perfect!

Why JB?
Was it the bike or was it not suited to the riding you wanted to do?

boboneleg wrote: Thu Jun 03, 2021 5:57 pm Just a heads-up guys. I washed my bike on Monday and noticed this, it's at the front of the tank near the headstock. I have informed the dealer and will push for a new tank.

Bike is 18 months old and done 4600 miles :(
I though I better check mine after seeing your photo.

2 years old and 5250 miles.
Oddly yours is white on the underside whereas mine is black even though it’s a white bike.
This is the sort of issues I had with a new Tracer in just under 3 months ownership 😔. Traded the bike in after that and water behind the digi dash plus rust on rear shock despite cleaning after every ride

Sold mine as well:((

Probably shouldn’t have however my off roading was 0.0009% now and needed more comfort /cruise control/ and something to change my gears for me:))

I had it exactly 1 year and did 3500 miles on it

Like Minky said it’s a bloomin’ handful off-road at 200kg and that’s before you add anything
This seriously limits the trails you can ride alone or with friends and is really only doable in dry summer conditions

I couldn’t get the screen right at 6’2 - no matter what I tried (screen adjusters, screen spoiler, hideous massive touring screen) and the buffeting was something else

Suspension needs work from £500 to £2000 depending on your budget and desires

Then there’s engine protection (think more weight) and luggage options

You could easily throw another £2-3k at it

A month ago I did a road trip in Scotland and took the GS Adv - 1000 mile in 4 days and it proved how much better the BMW is for road tours - in terms of hauling ass, with luggage and in terms of comfort was streets ahead of the T7

After that... it’s days were numbered

Going to stick with the GSA for road tours and long haul & buy another new WR250F or I have chance of a well specced CRF 450L (fuelling would need work though) for for trails and then Van it to further afield riding areas, as a lightweight mount

Going to keep the XR400R and turn it into a TET platform for longer distance stuff

It’s horses for courses.

If I didn’t do multi day TET camping trips I probably wouldn’t ride a T7 but as it’s my only bike, it’s served me well for that primary purpose for the last 6k miles including commuting to work etc.

Hi everyone, I’m new here and just introduced myself on the “newbie” page.
After an 8 year gap since my last bike I’m finally in the market for another.
Probably preaching to the converted on this thread but I’m currently trying to choose between a Tenere 1200 Gen 1 world crosser model and an Africa Twin 1000 (manual).
I’m like a lot of you I guess trying to find the holy grail of a do it all bike.
It’s going to be primarily a bike for 150-300 days out and weekend tours in the UK and when we can finally get around Europe more freely a trip or two a year on the continent.
It will primarily be used solo but on occasions 2 up.
99% of the time on road with only light off road eg fire roads or equivalent for camping spots.
I’m leaning towards the World Crosser...... well look at it!!!
Anyone here had both bikes by any chance?
Thanks for any light you can shed.
