I would guess it's to prevent bots from attacking the site (all those spurious postings that appear from time to time, and DDoS attacks etc.).

Plus one Billy, I got the same message when trying to logon plus again when I tried to type this reply.

Probably not connected but by coincidence this morning I received a 'phone call from 01143997171 claiming to be from Amazon. I have checked with Amazon and it was not them, nothing has happened to my account but I have authorised the two step confirmation system and changed my contact 'phone number.

There is a scam doing rounds
Had a a call last week saying my Amazon Prime account was about to expire. Could they please update my banking details.

Whenever I get owt like this I always tell them I am to busy at moment and ask the to call back.

They never do and in meantime I have had a quick search on line
" Amazon Prime scam" etc and that gives an idea.

If it is blatantly obvious that is a scam I will lead them on for a bit as a bit of sport
