Glad to hear you're doing well now Richard! A cardiac bikers club could be a great idea! It's amazing how much better you feel after getting your ticker sorted - are you feeling more energetic across the board?

I had heart surgery 10 years ago now to replace my aortic valve with a bovine tissue valve. It'll be due replacing in the coming years and I'll have to make the decision of mechanical or biological. Erring towards biological again as I don't like the sound of being on blood thinners for the rest of my life (I'm 28). Godspeed, I'd be interested to hear your take on which choice to make

One bit of advice I would give to anyone who's had heart problems (though it may be mostly limited to those who have had some form of surgery) - brush your teeth and look after them! I chipped my tooth a few years back (it was actually opening a beer bottle at an old ABR Rally) and I just left it. It eventually got infected, the bacteria got into my blood and then stuck to my aortic valve giving me endocarditis. 1 week of feeling like dying at home, 2 weeks in hospital, and 2 months on IV antibiotics 2-4 times a day.

Unfortunately my expertise is limited on valve replacement. Sorry I can’t help on that one

I'm feeling much better...I used to be really slow walking up hills, for example, but not any more.

Just got to remember to go gently lifting stuff and not raise my left arm.

I'm now engaged with what I fear may be a struggle with the Drivers Medical Unit at DVLA.

Just wondering how we're all keeping? Ok here but my issues were/are relatively minor (fingers crossed).

All done under covid conditions...wait outside until 5 mins before your appointment.
I've got 6.7 years of battery life left, and they don't want to see me for 12 months!
