Can anyone recommend a GPS unit for off-roading, green lane etc?. Cheaper would be better but willing the pay the right price for a good model.

For a cheap old fashioned option Memory map OS maps on Road Angel (showerproof) or Binatone A350 or A 430 car ie not waterproof, available used on ebay @ £20?
memory Map v 5 program runs on PC with a version on windows mobile on the satnav. This will display OSmaps you can plan on the PC download route or track to satnav and visually follow it. If you want satnav to navigate ie plan your route or direct you look elsewhere though the modern version may do that..
see Devon TRF site

The newer versions of Memory Map that will run on modern phones Android & ?? but have never used them.
