Re: Choosing safest jacket
Hi, guys.
A week ago I finally decided to give all my savings and buy Klim Apex Air jacket and pants on xlmoto.eu. After going to checkout I realize that they haven’t shipping to my country ☹ so I write off Klim as a choice.
Good morning
What country do you live in? Is there no other way you can get your first choice shipped to you?
All the best

Re: Choosing safest jacket
Hi
ahhhh I see.....no friends that could get it shipped from their address I presume? Or could you call the supplier and order over the phone or choose your own courier to collect at their premises? Be a shame to miss out on your first choice?
Just a thought

Re: Choosing safest jacket
LifeLineMoto is Klim's dealer for Croatia, but jackets are too expensive for me. They have Apex non-Air version and it is 760 EUR. Apex Air from xlmoto.eu is 470 EUR and that is max amount of money I can give for jacket. Unfortunately xlmoto.eu doesn't ship to Croatia by regular procedure, so it isn't an option.
Thanks @Fishandchips for posting great article about CE approval law. I did little research and sent some inquiries to manufacturers of those 3 jackets. I got following informations:
Modeka Panamericana - CE approved by newest standard prEN 17092-3:2018 (source: https://modeka.de/pdf/produktdetails/PA ... _JACKE.pdf)
IXS Montevideo Air 2 - ?? (didn't answer to inquiry yet)
Alpinestars Yokohama - ?? (didn't answer to inquiry yet)
I think Modeka Panamericana with 750 D Tactel and 1000 D Cordura reinforcements and level 2 protectors should be the safest one.
EDIT: I bought Modeka Panamericana size L (i am wearing everyday clothing in size XL) and it fits perfectly. Firsty, I tryed IXS Montevideo RS1000 and almost buy it, but after trying Modeka I conclude that Panamericana fits a bit better than IXS.
