Merry Christmas everybody! In the latest issue of Adventure Bike Rider magazine (issue 50) we teamed up with Bridgestone to bring you the ABR and Bridgestone Scotland Coast to Coast. This is the first of four coast to coast routes throughout the UK that we'll be doing, and it's an excellent ride. Taking you across the length of the Southern Uplands, you'll travel on roads most would bypass on their way to Scotland's more popular riding destinations. Our route starts in Eyemouth on the eastern coast of the country, and then takes you on a 246-mile long ride through the mountains and valleys of southern Scotland, finally reaching the country's most south westerly point at the Mull of Galloway.
If you'd like to ride this route, we've plotted it out so that you can download it and stick it in your SatNav. Simply right click on the attachment below called 'ABR Bridgestone Coast to Coast route.gpx' and choose 'Save Link As', once you've saved it to your computer load it into your SatNav as per the manufacturers instructions and get riding!

Hi Bryn, have had a look at the route. It appears to be all tarmac. Will you be posting any "off road " alternative sections?

Not in Scotland as it is illegal with a few exceptions such as the forest drives https://scotland.forestry.gov.uk/forest ... rest-drive or land owners permission. Actually the one above is not far off route. There are some nice biker friendly hotels in Moffat btw
The secret of a long life is knowing when its time to go.

As mentioned, unfortunately not for the Scottish route, but the next three we do will all have off-road options
