Re: N.I ABR's in the Pyrenees
Great report and photos, love riding that area.
"I cant recall the name of the village, but I'm sure someone will remind me ?"
The village you are looking down on is Baquiera a very popular and expensive Ski Resort. The road is the C-28.
There is a great off-road loop around the back of there from Bossòst part of the RB1.

Re: N.I ABR's in the Pyrenees
I was hoping this report might eventually surface. Never doubted is was going to be a great trip for you. My trusty K100 has travelled a lot of roads like that too, just doesn't do roads with big rocks.
I was somewhat surprised to bump into Heff on the ferry from Cork, more so because I had some idea he was heading to eastern Europe around that time. I live about 5 miles from the ferry port so France is an easy one for me. Even with that the K100 got over 2,000 miles on it for the trip.
Leaving the ferry in rain, new tyres with all of 15 miles on them, also fresh brakes and pads all needing breaking in and I headed off and somewhat later sitting having a coffee I think near Nantes who walks in but Heff and the travellers.
At that stage my plan was allowing me 2 days to get to my destination, St Leon sur Vezere as I had an arrangement with Catcitrus from ABR that turned out a great trip. Weather improved, I encountered a motorway crash shortly after Nantes that caused serious tailbacks that I spotted just before I got to Junction 6 on the A83 so I went off the motorway on to a favourite non motorway dead straight tree lined road with no traffic, down through Niort and heading south east. I kept my usual steady [pedantic to many] pace that eventually caused me to abandon any plan for an overnight stop and put me in Perigueux for around 6pm and with the result that by 8pm I had met my local friends, eaten dinner, pitched tent with everything sorted and hitting the bed with the next day to spare.
I was thinking at that point of Heff and the others hoping a safe trip to Lourdes for their overnight stop.
I had a great time off too and now Heff's is posted I will have to try to add some photos.
Even better.........added a K1100LTSE while I was away, thanks to my friend who couldn't travel at the last minute giving me the nod.
