Not strictly Adventure bike riding but bought my 6 year old a Beta mini Electric trials bike yesterday from a trials centre. He had a petrol MX bike but limited places to use it. Yesterday he did 2hrs + in the woods and parks around me and loved it.
I have wanted to try trials riding for years but at 42 am I too old ?
Lad booked on a trials day in November and they do adult days too.

I bought my scorpa 250 trials bike (my first) aged 45...

I took it up at 47 my woman at 49....and we're still doing it 8 years on.

I keep thinking of trying it to improve my slow speed riding and balance, where do people do the days?

Trials riding is great fun and need only be as difficult as you want to challenge yourself. It has to be the cheapest form of motorcycle sport.

Not sure where you live but Manchester 17MCC run "Dead Easy Trials" in and around the Peak District. These events are aimed for youngsters and adult beginners too, take a look at their website;

Click on the trials bike picture and follow to 'Links' which lists clubs. Other clubs offer similar events too and I am sure that you and your son would be made most welcome at any of them.

Get yourself a copy of the newspaper Trials and Motocross News or follow this link as the clubs promote their events through this medium;

I just started riding trials at the age of 65 loving it bought a 250 gas gas a couple of weeks ago , picked it up on the Tuesday and entered a trial on the Sunday , pissed with rain great fun , plus I've got the jotagas outfit which I'm entering the newcomers class in the British championship rounds , down at phils in France at the moment I reckon he needs a trials bike in the stable
