Hi all, in the market for a factory lowered f800gs, anyone got any leads as MCN and EBay are a wash-out!

Silly question but could you get away with the lower seat or does it have to have the low suspension option. They are quite a tall bike but if you do not need the off road ability of the F800gs the F650gs(800cc twin) is a good option.

You can get the Hyperpro lowering fork springs and shock for about £200. Fit them yourself of get a bike garage to do it for not too much.
In addition plenty of lowered seats on EBay if you need a bit more.
The advantage of doing it this way is you can but it back and sell as a standard bike.

I've got a standard one and fitted the HyperPro springs, rear shock and a low seat - I'm 5'6" with a 29" inside leg and the bike is just right for me.
One thing I would recommend is the Touratech low seat - it's expensive but for me I found it so much better than standard - 500 mile days are no problem (thumbs)

Thanks for the suggestions. I have the f650gs, been a fantastic bike for 3 years but it's time to trade up and the f800gs is the one to go for. Looking at the posts here I'm thinking I might not need the factory lowered seat, I'm going to look at the options recommended before making my decision.

As for off-road, I have the CRF for that!

Thanks again

Thanks for the lead, I'm looking into the Hyperpro option now and it looks like a much better way to go. Also looking at the lowered seat and at 850mm it would probably suit me perfectly.

Hi Anthony, great to hear from you. The CRF is doing me proud, I love it to bits. You may remember I bought it from you to get some practice in before trading it in for a CCM for the big Morocco trip. 18 months on I still have it - I made the decision after just 3 months that it was a keeper and after test-riding the CCM couldn't bear the thought of swapping!

I would love to come over and test ride your bike, but sadly I think you are a little too far away, especially at the moment with life so hectic! Thanks so much for the offer though.

I'll take a look at the bike for sale - thanks for the tip.

Will take a look, thanks. I have a couple of inches on you so looks like this is the way forward :-)
