Klim Badlands

Hi All,
I popped into J&S in Nottingham looking for a pair of summer gloves but spotted some Klim gear. I've always fancied Klim Badlands so I tried a jacket on, in one word amazing. An absolute suit of armour but very comfortable too. Eye watering price tag of £850 and my initial thoughts were that I do a lot more on road than off road these days.
Second thoughts were I always were textile clothing and if there is kit that offers that level of protection, can you afford not to buy it? Most of us now someone who has suffered injuries from a fall, often life changers, so the best helmets / clothing / gloves / boots etc. isn't a luxury. None of us ever plan to fall off, or get knocked off, but I'm sure that we all want to make it home to our families at the end of every ride.
I didn't do a u turn and by the Klim kit, but I am seriously saving towards its. I know its expensive, but if it can reduce potential injuries I see it as a definite investment in my own future.
