Afternoon All
I'm fortunate enough to be heading to the IoM TT next week for the very first time, always wanted to do it but never had the chance to do it, so really can't wait
Will be staying in a tent at Vagabonds RUFC (in sports center) at Union Mills.
If anyone has any useful hints/tips for a TT newbie they'd be gratefully received.

I'm heading over as well, I haven't been to the island for 10 years as a spectator ( and 27 as a competitor), the place is brilliant and really friendly. Which ferry are you on?.

I'm actually flying in on the Tuesday as with my dad and brother (Dad used to ride but can't now due to medical condition and brother doesn't ride).
Really looking forward to it, should be great !

You jammy sod,have a great time,it's a place im determind to get to,im off to the Armoy in July so at least ive got that to look forward to,nothing comes close to road racing.

I've not been for a few years but I would say
1. Watch out for the Germans. They are as mad as us but if in trouble we peel left, their instict is to peel right. Not good in a head to head scenario!
2. Watch your speed limit in restricted areas, the police take a dim view. Derestricted areas mean just that
3. Explore the place, don't just go round and round the course.
4. On race days keep outside the circuit. It's kinda shit if the weather turns, the racing is delayed and your stuck on the inside!
5. Enjoy

I'm currently on a boat on the way back from practice week.
Shame there was only one session so far due to the weather. However it is great.
The best advice I can give is decide where you want to watch and get there in good time to get a good spot, if you want to see how well a Superbike can fly check out Ballaugh.

I'm here now got of boat during last nights practice found our way to quarter bride and watched from there (thumbs)

You are in for a treat. They go so fast in Douglas that it made me nauseous the first time I saw it.
It also sucks the air out of your chest if you are standing by the fence/wall on the inside of a bend.
Plan to spend a night or two in Douglas as the atmosphere and entertainment on the promenade are fantastic.
See if you can get on the train (as you have no bikes) up to the top of Snaefell.

Bring your IOM OS map and head off on one of the many green lanes, I am planning to try and get to a few of the more of the beaten track spots.
