Desperate, what's the difference between an Osteopath and Chiropractor?

Post by mark1150 »

I've had enough, my back between my shoulder blades on the left side is mullered disc again me thinks; and worse still my left shoulder is on fire coupled with the upper arm having the sensation of someone holding onto the pressure point between triceps and bone extreamly tightly, to add to the woe the left forearm and wrist feel like they are broken, and I haven't slept properly in a couple of weeks.
I've popped pain killers like smarties and they are making me feel sick.

The reason for the question is my guy in London died a while back and have since lost his card, he used to crack my spine into place and was brilliant.
I tried someone up here a few years ago and all they did was light exercises.. no use and in the end a sneeze clicked it back, so I need to know who deals with what and any recommendations for a decent person in EA would be appreciated.

there is a realy good guy in colchester. Not sure if he is oesteopath or chiropactor. My spine was twisted and I had one hip higher than the other. He took xrays and you could see what the problem was.

Think I saw him twice a week to start then once a week whilst going to the gym everyother day to do the exercises he gave me. Ive never had a problem with my back scince.

Yes come and see me and I'll do it in a nice way

I would look for someone with a good reputation and go and see them. I would not worry wether they are an Osteo or a chiro. Then get some soft tissue work done to sort the problem out. We service and care for our bikes but never think our bodies what a good services as well (oh er vicar  )

The first Chiro was an Osteo, they both manipulate the spine to ensure optimum spinal health.

cheers Spud ;)

Thanks for the replies chaps.
Seeing someone on Tuesday; and to be honest I'm feeling so crap that I don't care if he makes me wear a gimp mask as long as he can fix me.

I have a good chiro now but not exactly local to you. If you don't get on with the first one try another don't give up. My first chiro was excellent but sold up and moved abroad, the second used pressure points to relax the spasmed muscles which had the opposite effect for me. I changed practice and now have an ex army medic that uses massage to relax me before contorting me in strange ways but to much success. Get the frozen peas in for Tuesday evening. B)
