I plan to spend next weekend riding in the Peak District.

Can anyone recommend some good cafes / pubs etc etc to visit

Wetton Mill cafe.
Flash Bar Stores.
Tissington Cafe.

Wetton Mill is good, but don't turn up expecting a 'cafe' as such, it's more of a tea room (only cake or crumpets), but you get to ride through a tunnel to get to or from it.
Flash store is worth a visit, I recommend the cheese and branston pastie.
Tissington, it's the one on the 'S' bend that you need, although the other one does a nice slice of cake, the chip shop on the 'S' bend is exceptional and do something called a pea batty.
Yonderman is ok, but not a match for Grindleford station cafe, which isn't actually in Grindleford, it's in Upper Padley.
The Old Smithy, Monyash is good, it's where I took Mrs SHarper for our silver wedding anniversary, although it's a bit pricey and the chips are frozen ones, rather than real potato, which you'd expect for the price.
If you're wanting an evening meal, or somewhere to stop, you could do a lot worse than The Bulls Head in Foolow. (Just up the road from the Yonderman)
The raspberry ripple ice cream at Monsall Head always goes down well.

It depends a bit which bit of the Peaks and if you are staying overnight. All the above are good recommendations, there are two Cafes in Longor both are great (the one in the craft centre is a bit more upmarket). The pub at Monsal Head is good for food but a bit pricey, the Pack horse at Little Longstone is similar although the beers cheaper. The Poets corner at Ashover is good, for a more expensive meal the Mistral in Wirksworth is great and the Royal Oak round the corner is a proper pub.

If it were me, unless you like queueing in traffic and looking at other people's bikes I would avoid Matlock Bath although the Fishpond there is good for food and beer.

Many thanks for your help will have a look at the map and start planning. Have a few days off with my son so trying to make the most of it

Are you camping? if so I would recommend either the site at Monsal Head (quiet, basic and in walking distance of the pubs at Monsal, Little Longstone or Great Longstone) or Monyash (better facilities but can be a bit noisier as the road is busier).
