Near Miss

Nice day, so was wandering up to Tyndrum at a steady 60 MPH today when a biker suddenly cut in front of me, just missing a car coming in the opposite direction by a fraction of a second.
If he had hit the car, his bike would have bounced into mine with unpredictable and very unpleasant results, but worst of all it would have spoiled my day.
Sometimes fate deals you both good and bad cards.

Bloody bikers should be banned from the road! Have you never made an error when you're riding your bike? Either that or the guy knew exactly how much time he had and you're a drama queen!

I had a similar incident earlier this year, but I was the one causing it.
Totally my fault and due to lack or observation, luckily no one was hurt but it could have been much worse and it has given me a good kick and made me realise I needed to get some more training and take a good look at my road riding skills.

I think that something distracted the other rider and he lost focus.

I'm not going to waste my time getting into an argument about it but how is it a bit harsh? If it was a split second miss the guy obviously made an error in his judgment but can anybody on this forum say they have never cocked up? Or one persons "split second" is another persons "plenty of time"
I had a "near miss" today with a boy racer deciding to overtake after I was a "split second" from his rear bumper but I didn't feel the need to start a thread about it.

But you felt the need to tell people about it in someone else's thread while at the same time slapping someone down.

Agree totally. The OP is only recanting what he thought was a dangerous encounter with another bike and you call him a drama queen.
He did not berate the guy, just recanted his thoughts on the possible consequenses of a close call going wrong.

At some point the A82 will be closed for investigation work and his tragic story will be in the paper along with pictures of him and his kids.

Not that type of error no. Though I've seen plenty other riders do it through arrogance or idiocy.
