Odesa Canyon - Spanish Pyrenees

Post by Alun »

I've been thinking of places I've visited and would like to go back to on the motorcycle. Near the top of the list is the Ordesa Canyon in the Spanish Pyrenees. At 11km long and more than 1,000m deep it's often called 'Europes Grand Canyon' – it's a spectacular sight, thats for sure and the roads around the region are fantastic.

Last time I was there I hiked to the south rim of the canyon from the village of Torla and along the way discovered a rough dirt road that tops out smack, bang on the lip of a 1000m precipice overlooking the Ordesa. It's a track well used by mountain bikers and locals with 4*4's and would make a fantastic day out on a motorcycle.

Anyone been there? And where would you like to return to an a motorcycle?

Here's the view from the top of the track
