You got it (thumbs) no MOT here !!!

but to be honest even though the likes of us know our own bikes and check regularly , the lack of knowledge of perhaps newer rides on un MOTed bikes could end badly

Hi Andy

NO CT for bikes.
NO tax either.

When you register the bike at the prefecture you'll be charged a registration fee based on the bike's 'CV' rating (which is a figure based upon a combination of CO2 output, power etc). This gives you a figure that becomes the multiplier for the fee at each prefecture. E.g. 5CV means 5 x €21 = €105 total fee (that's just a made up example).

Then you just need your insurance.

You will need an original copy of the "Certificate of Conformity" this is supplied by the importer in the UK, some charge a fee and others not.
The 100 bhp maximum is finishing this year.
Good luck, just make sure the find the correct model, as some are not listed on the French system.
I had problems with a two year old 1200RT, ended up at 900cc on the CG.
Good luck, one you have all the documents it's very quick.
