Sorry to see it go. Feeling a bit sad.

Post by Treadtrader »

Pal of mine has just collected my Triumph trophy 900.

I've owned it a few years, bought for two-up touring.

Me and the missus are really sorry to see it go, we've had many happy times and comfy holiday tours on it.

Its that sinking feeling, but at least its going to someone you know!

Sad for you and the missus, and sad for the bike too. :(

But it's going to be someone's new pride & joy, and hopefully be used a lot, and that'll make it happy :) :)

Odd how we get attatched to these things. A mate has my old zed thou and hardly ever uses it,its almost worse seeing it again,if its gone its gone I'd rather not see it again.

A couple of years back I had to sell my 03 Varadero, business was struggling and needs must. It was the bike I did my big trip on but I had to be sensible.
A month or two later I was nosing around Auto-trader online and there it was, pics and all.

Maria asked what was up and I am sorry to say, "I did cry" Queue the violins,,,

But every cloud and all that, 6 months later bought an 07 model.......

You can always buy it back... Mabel my venerable old Suzi GS850 was sold and then repatriated ... and she now may be going as a gift to a good friend who has had to sell his bikes following an operation as he had no where to store them while he heals... :D

Some people buy and sell them as the weather changes , but for those of us who keep them for years it's like losing one of the family.

I had two Trophys Dave, a 1993 900 and a 1995 1200 (the older styled ones). I sold them a good few years back but I do miss the unmistakeable whistle of that lovely triple engine.

I'd rather sell the missus to a mate than my bike

I'm selling my Land Rover Discovery 2. It's been the best car I've ever had. I have only done 436 miles since January. So it's sat on the drive wasting money. Boy will I miss it. :(

My neighbour is thinking about selling his Trophy 12: he's after either a, 885 or a 955 Tiger for similar money... I think he'll bike anyone's hand off for a swap or £2K.

Right then... that Landy... should I buy it! :woohoo:
