Re: Adventure bike ?
does not matter. just go test ride the ones you like and buy one. and then you could start the most important bit - farkling, to be sure that everyone knows inside and outside costa that you are a real adventure rider !

To me the whole "adventure" thing is well over done, I just like the riding position of off road bias bikes + I come from an off road motorcycling background.
If the riding position suits you and you like the look of the bike then go for it.
I also use the words swinging arm and rear damper so I guess I'm kind of old school.

Well said - especially about the 'adventure' thing being overdone. I ride the type of bike I do for the same reason - comfortable riding position. Makes sense to me.bowber wrote:To me the whole "adventure" thing is well over done, I just like the riding position of off road bias bikes + I come from an off road motorcycling background.

Re: Adventure bike ?
"Adventure bike" is marketing bollox. If you are comfortable on any bike you will ride it further for longer and have adventures. If it is heavy with not much ground clearance then it will not go very far away from tarmac but many adventures can be had within these limitations. There are GS's and KTMs which have these types of adventures sometimes no further than the local posing ground (pub etc) or supermarket.
If you're suffering from posture and strength issues then would a CCM or similar 4 stroke light weight be ideal?
