Not sure which day I'll be coming through at the moment mate, depends on if I stay at Once Brewed on the way up, or push on from Penrith straight to Glentrool and stay there. I'll be staying at Once Brewed on the way back down anyway, so it's not a requirement for the checkpoint.

Re: Nature Rally – Charity 'all in one trip' tour
Haven't posted for a few hours owing to a last-minute technical dilema – some thieving git's nicked the tax disk of my bike whilst it was parked up today, after loosing one a few years back I'd put one of those really sturdy bolted alloy holders on and it's been snapped clean off (must have taken quite a bit of effort).
Now my other half is facing a mercy run to the DVLA offices in Exeter tomorrow to get a new one before I leave. There's always something to upset even the most well-planned trip, so I'm hoping this is my hiccup.
Thanks everyone for all your support and good luck wishes. I'm overwhelmed by the generosity being displayed by this forum in support of the trip. Many of the donations on my just giving page have come from members of this forum which is a real testament to kind of people we have here.
A huge thank you to all those who've donated so far – I hope I'll have the opportunity to return the gesture in due course.

Hi Lee, I know it's a bit late but are you camping en-route? If you are and when you are passing through Cumbria, for a small detour from Penrith to Kirkby Stephen you are welcome to stay at our Campsite free of charge, I have even been known to make stray bikers a brew in the morning.
Good luck with your trip....
Just thinking, from Brockholes, maybe easier to head for kendal, Tebay then Kirkby Stephen.
Following day a short blast up the A6 gets you back on track at Penrith.

Thanks Paul – I will be camping on the trip, if the timing's right and I'm looking for a campsite around the area I'll look you up. What's the address??Paul wrote:Hi Lee, I know it's a bit late but are you camping en-route? Think i may have spotted our Lee this morning about 9 heading to Glasgow as i was on the way to work; the fully loaded XT-Z looked about right but visibility was a bit of a shocker due to the p*****g rain!
