The fazer and the bandit are both good bikes, my mate has had both and rates them both very highly.

For commuting though I'd go with for a full fairing.

Any of those 600ish bikes are good, Fazer, Bandit, Hornet, I have an 05 Bandit 650 which I love. So comfy and with the seat in lowest position I can get both feet of my 5'6" frame flat on the floor.

Hope you find a nice brace of bikes!

Thanks Sprockette, i am already swaying towards the Bandit, i know the FZ6 is a more modern machine with superior frame BUT you can fettle with Bandits much easier me thinks and there is a bit of a following for them, they have character and that old school traditional look. Well the test rides will sort the wheat from the chaff i suppose. No doubt ill let you all know what i end up with. Below are actual pics of the bikes. Decisions decisions...........

Go for the Bandit, you wont regret it. The Fazer aint worth the extra dosh and wont do anything the Bandit wont do.
Mind you... I am biased being on my third Bandit now.
