hgv speed limit increase in uk..

Hi folks this a imformative post and a question for Richard of tfr fame...
Hgv speeds are going up in april on dual carrage ways to 60mph from 50mph ...also on single national speed roads from 40mph to 50mph ..so a end to being stuck behind supermarket lorrys lol..
Could Richard confirm the introductory dates please as cant find out on web and my transport manager knows nowr as usual...lol

I've heard about the 40-50mph but not the 50-60mph???

It was announced late November 2014 that truck speed limits would be increased from 40mph to 50mph on single carriageway,and 50mph to 60mph on dual carriageway.The new limits are scheduled to take effect on 6th April 2015 In reality,the speed limit increase on dual carriageways will not be 60,due to trucks being speed-limited to 56mph(90kph) as dictated by our masters in Euroland

No. it only applies to trucks over 7.5t

Haven't heard anything about this in Northern Ireland?
We have different legislation, or so I'm told, so might not apply here :blink:
