For Sale - KTM 990 Adventure 2008 £4800
KTM 990 Adventure 2008
The time has come to sell, its taken me some time to make this decision but with other bikes in the stable, I’m just not using her much these days. And with an ongoing shoulder injuring she just a bit too much of a handful for me now.
I bought the bike in 2009 to use as an adventure bike and she has been used exactly for that purpose. She has a few knocks and scraps from her adventures so if you’re looking for a top condition bike then this may not be the bike for you.
She has had a no expense spared budget and has been looked after like one of the children. I’m aircraft engineer by trade so all maintenance and work has been done by me to a high standard. The bike has transformed allot from the day I bought her, undergoing numerous modifications to make her the bike I wanted.

• SAS removal and Custom mapped
• Crispy Designs Graphics
As you can see from the list above this bike comes ready to play anywhere and anyhow. I’m not interested in breaking the bike for its toys so please don’t ask. This bike has been a labour of love and I don’t care if it sells or not. In fact Im trying to convince myself to keep it! I’m just trying to be sensible and realistic and I know there is a better home for it somewhere out there.
The condition is very good. It has a few minor scrapes and knocks on the plastics and it has the normal KTM rusty spokes. But apart from that it has always been treated with copious amounts ACF50 and garaged. Im sure if you spoke to anyone that has seen or ridden this bike that they would only have good things to say.
Bike is based in Rugby and don’t hesitate to ask me anything

I know this bike and can assure anyone that Haydn is an absolutely meticulous guy who NEVER cuts corners on maintenance.

+1 for Gav's opnion - Haydn and his Katy were esteemed guests at the 2012 HISS, where the last photo was taken at a pass way above over 2,000 metres!Gavinskii wrote:I know this bike and can assure anyone that Haydn is an absolutely meticulous guy who NEVER cuts corners on maintenance.

Here's the valley he's looking into taken from a differnt location further up in te mountains - before I rediscovered biking a might add - and I'm not sure whether anyone, even on a KTM would like to try this trail
A glass of beer awaits the new owner when s/he does a return visit on her

Then buy it Dear Stanley, Dear Stanley, buy it . . .stanbloke wrote:Arrrrgh dont do this to me !!!!. i reallY miss my KTM.
Thats a great looking bike.
Where is that trail Simon ?. Maybe a contender for 2015 trip ?.
As for that trail, it's totally illegal so I won't give a link - I live here remember! - but it's called El Carrilet, so you can look it up easily enough. But note that those tracks are only 75 cm wide and that location is by no means the least vertiginous!
Your can ride to the southern end fine - one of my HISS trails passes it - but the far end is only accessible by cable car!
Meanwhile a totally shameless plug for the cheap fortnight at my holiday cottage on the amazing C1311 - which of course you know well Stan - taken from the same road this morning by my own far hand . . .
The sierra behind the village gives access to hundreds of kilometres or 'virgin' trails, all of which i have guides, .gpx file for, etc. all free for the lucky occupants
