Only a two man? Consider more space, comfort is key! :silly:

Its only for me, I travel solo, so a 2 man tent will be plenty big enough.
Especially with the porch.
Are the poles weak and break
How easy to put up on my own?

My Omega 350 has a tendency to break poles with great regularity.

Cheap Chinese alloy I suspect.....

Very easy to erect though, and bags of room inside.

Would you say the Beta 250 with fibreglass poles was a better bet?
The one advantage of the omega is the poles.

I've read a few reviews of the alloy poles breaking on the Omega.... so i would save some money and go with the Beta myself.
I ended up buying a Lichfied Cherokee, which is identical to the Vango Beta, because i got it at a bargain reduced price a couple of years ago.

hi I use one , brilliant tent .
dont have any probs with alloy poles breaking. they are colour coded so you dont put wrong ones in the diff sleves. Plenty room for 2 or one in luxury lightweight and small but not compared to back pack tents.

used mine for touring last year in europe , waterproof quick to errect and take down. front porch is great plenty room for 2 panniers and still room to cook if its raining.
mine cost lots more than this years price good vango garuentte should owt go wrong.

the new ones with the raised sides in the porch are bestespecially if its monsoon weather.

The beta is a bit heavier.

Firstly because of the poles, but also the groundsheet is the thick plasticy stuff (technical term) rather than nylon.
