sat nav GPX-ride data
sat nav GPX-ride data
hi all,
This facility is available on other sites namely bmw gs and ADV:woohoo: :woohoo: its a great way to share routes and proposed ride out routes especially offroad.
we could start a library of routes both uk and abroad as most bikers use Garmins of some description..
so how about people lets make it happen for the benefit of all Adventureres
I`m starting to like it on hear.... odd balls round every corner

I agree. The ability to post a .gdb file so that everyone going on a ride has the route in advance would be a great addition to this site.

Re: sat nav GPX-ride data
Best format for track logs and POI is GPX - .gdb is too limited and not all applications and devices can read it.
As it is also a Garmin proprietary format it does not transfer all pertinent data to non-Garmin devices that can read .gdb files.
Best tool if another user can't convert files from their device is to get a copy of GPS Utility which is more than capable of importing and exporting loads of formats. It is also very good at converting GPX into many formats suitable for all major manufacturers devices, both past and present. Sometimes older GPSr's have a limited number of waypoints/trackpoints per track , and GPSU enables you to take a track from the latest ones and edit them to fit ... v.handy for those on a budget

Re: sat nav GPX-ride data
I only have a screen shot for the route_32.gpx file, but both files open and look to be usable
