Dawn to dusk enduro

Post by bowman660z »

Does anyone know here I can find a copy of the regulations for the 10hr night race? Had a look on the web site but it doesn't really say much :S

Is that all of them? I'm sure I read somewhere that you had to have a red flashing light on your back or something? :S also are padded biking gear suitable armour?

You do need a red light on your body, a cheap bicycle light will do. Personally I'd want more than just padded gear. There's lots of massive rocks that will easily break stuff if you fall on them

As far as I know. Don't know about any lights. Take a cheap camping headtorch that does the flashing if you're worried.
I'd take proper motocross armour and boots rather than normal bike gear. It's less sweaty for a start :)

You'll need a red flashing light attached to your back or your hydration pack if you're using one but they're dirt cheap and probably the best place to go is Halfords. I got a small LED light that attaches with a loop of elastic for under a fiver and it's not worth risking being bumped off the start for not having one.

I did the night stage two years ago and you also need to make sure your headlights are as bright as you can get them or add supplimentary lights, when it gets dark it gets dark...
and it is compulsory for the night stage for a flashing lamp on the back..
as for clothing I didnt bother with armour as I felt it restrictive and I didnt ride fast enough to worry.
but if your going to ride competitively then armour is the safest route...
have fun.
