Well here goes......

As you lot know in the south east, we have a half decent rideout planned for tomorrow. In an attempt to get this going, I have created a group called SELKENT ABR under the members/groups section. This is aimed at South East and South Londoners, but anyone can come, Mr Surrey man etc. I know there is another group listed in the south east, but doesn't seem to be very active, The guy who started it hasn't logged in for 2 yrs!!!!

I don't mind organizing rideouts to help get this going and would like it to be a regular meet.

What I am suggesting, until several like minded nutters decide something different is that I will be at the PLOUGH in Eynsford every other Wednesday from 19:00 onwards.

So the next meet after the rideout will be on the 17th July 2013. Now this can be a rideout of tomorrow's in reverse or sit around a couple tables sipping beers, looking at girls.(Sorry very sexist here, girls are welcome to come alone as well). I might even get my misses to pop down with the dog.

Everyone is welcome, I can even take any newbies, if any come along, on seperate rideouts, just to get them used to the Green lanes around here, there are a loads.

I'm based in Eynsford anyway, so i will always be there on that Wednesday. Actually it does fall in nicely with my other meet at the PIED BULL, the other 2 Wednesday of the month.

With the late evenings still around we can get some riding in 1-2hrs on and off road, but as winter approaches I know numbers will dwindle....

Having said that I will do some winter rideouts as well, as my current tyres will be dead by then and I can get some off road rubber!!!

I will also sort some road rideouts, as there are some mental lanes round here and i have done some good routes before.

Well this is a start, just hope I get some takers, otherwise I getting pissed by myself (Norman no mates and all that)

Si.

Sounds like a good plan Si ... nice pub in a great area along with a great Ford .. what more could anyone want . :)

I would be happy to lead some off road rides in the future .. maybe have a day ride taking in the local lanes and going across the Medway where there are some challenging but fun lanes.

Yep dude im always up for seeing new ground. I lived in kingswood, near Leeds Castle for 20 yrs so know just a couple of the roads in Kent. Ok not off road ones, but would be great to see some other lanes. I know the north downs way has a load, need to check the Os map.
I cant ever do Saturday rideouts as I see my 2 boys but Sundays I can always go for a ride, with some fellow ABR's. Any of you lot going down to Lymington this weekend.

What I am now doing is posting all announcements, ie: Meets, Rideouts under the SELKENT ABR Group section. This is located under members tab, groups, SELKENT ABR.

Here you will find who is in the group, and what is going on as well. This doesn't stop you posting in the normal places on the forum, but just keeps a list of all events, contacts, members of the group etc. If you join the group then I will be more than happy to PM my contact details, which will aid in meeting up if you get lost.

Thanks

Si

Just a heads up if you haven't seen the Selkent ABR wall posts.

DISCLAIMER
I have put together a little disclaimer, to prevent any of the lead riders getting moaned at.

Lead riders, even though they are leading a group are not responsible for any damaged incurred on yourself or your bike, whilst out on a Selkent ride out. Motor sport as we all know is dangerous and you ride at your own risk.

When I ride in the group I hold a first aid kit, so if we have some cuts etc we are covered, but if the worst should happen and something major should happen then we will all gang together to help anyone who needs our help.

We usually carry certain tools with us to perform minor repairs.

If there is a difficult Byway that needs a walk through then we will perform a walk through if needed. If there is a rider that is unsure about a Byway that can miss out that section.

At the end of the day we are all out to have a bit of fun.

PERMITS

Now some of our runs will be on Byways that require a Permit to access certain Byways.

These permits are free and can be downloaded from this link

https://shareweb.kent.gov.uk/Documents/ ... Permit.pdf

All you need to do is fill in the application and send it off, In return you will get a permit and a magic code, to allow you to open up gates on the restricted byways.

If you don't not have a permit and come on a ride out that requires one, you will not be allowed to access that section.

These permits take about 2 weeks to turn up, so get applying ;)

Here is map links to all Byways that have restrictions on them in Kent.

https://shareweb.kent.gov.uk/Documents/ ... O_Pack.pdf

Thanks for reading.

See you on our next ride out

Sexysi ;)
