Whatever you do do NOT add fabric conditioner as this will negate the proofing agent. With the Nikwax stuff it even tells tou to make sure that there aren't any residues of normal washing powder in the dispenser/dispenser chute. If there is any it can cause spotting on the clothes.
Hope all goes well.

If you're only washing occasionally, its good to put a towel in the washer and run on a hot wash before washing / reproofing breathable kit. This will clean most of the cr*p out of the washer.

Nikwax is exellent - use it on my bike and outdoors kit. You don't need to reproof every time, and sometimes its enough to wash in TechWash and dry to get the "beading" back.

Its cheaper to get 5 litre bottles of the stuff if you can - save a stack of cash. If you're in Lancashire Tamarack stock the larger bottles (www.tamarack.co.uk) and do a good deal.

Loads of info on the Nikwax site - have tried their glove proof (good) and their visor proof (not so good...). Swear by their Skitostop and Bite relieft stuff for midges - its excellent !

Don't be tempted to "over proof" by adding to much of the TX-10 proofer !
