Thats cheap considering Stafford motorcycles have a 52 plate for just under £5000 :woohoo:
Finally back on a GS ![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif)

Saw it & thought maybeGB wrote:Thats cheap considering Stafford motorcycles have a 52 plate for just under £5000 :woohoo:
Then had a word with myself
![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif)
£5k for a 10 year old bike even with the 'right accessories'
![Sad :(](./images/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif)
Not even a minter, looked like a fair bit of corrosion around the starter & cases plus some rusty frame bits
Shame @ £3995 it's a better proposition, but still too dear

I think it would break the terms of their franchise agreement with Honda UKWill wrote:That is tempting could a uk honda dealer do that for you ????? or would that make it a lot more , they must be able to buy cheaper than you :whistle:johnnyboxer wrote:$6000 in the USA, i might import a new'un, in a crateGB wrote:Cracking Bike Johnny
Easier to import yourself I reckon, probably find a new one for $5500 or less too, somewhere in the US
I have a relation in the US, so would wire the money to him and let him pay after I had done the deal, then arrange with a UK shipper to uplift it from the US dealer, still in the crate and ship it to the UK
Or buy it new at a US Honda dealer and let them plate it - have a 3-4 week holiday on it (with suitable US insurance) bring it back to a Canadian port as a used bike, use the RoRo service to Liverpool (no crating required), just ride on like we do on Channel ferries and fly home
Collect from Liverpool and maybe VAT isn't payable because it's 2nd hand, do a SVA test and get UK plates, job done

Re: Honda XR650L wanted
you will have to pay the import duty/vat when you register it theirs no way around it , I was thinking about importing a Suzuki dr650se last year and the costs just didn't work out
