Re: Campfire campsites
Hi Elle,
This is very relavent to my interests. I subscribe to this website:

You can filter campsites by campfires and the sites I've stayed at are great.

And now, Harry, let us step out into the night and pursue that flighty temptress, adventure.

Re: Campfire campsites
Red Squirrel Campsite in Glencoe allows camp fires, but only where they indicate it is allowed. You cant start one up anywhere on the site.
Some people are alive simply because its illegal to kill them....
Re: Campfire campsites
that camping ninja site is good, cheers brenhden.
you dont get much more fire friendly than hurst view in lymington, where we're having the south coast rally. (IF we can get it lit this time!)

Re: Campfire campsites
I have done a few dives in St Marys and Loch of the Lowes. Even in the height of summer it is baltic in the water! Some cracking roads in the area though.
Another camp site to try is the one in Kilchoan, Ardnamurchan. Again you can have a wee fire down at the bottom of the site, on the shoreline.

Red Squirrel without a fire might as well be a blood donor bankRH_SCOTLAND wrote:Red Squirrel Campsite in Glencoe allows camp fires, but only where they indicate it is allowed. You cant start one up anywhere on the site.
I remember many years ago arranging to meet a friend there, he told me to find the most exposed spot available & we then went out looking for the greenest dead wood to burn. If there had been tyres laying around we would have burnt them. Them midgies are feckers
Thank you Elle, one of my priorities is a site with fires permitted. Theres something about a fire under the stars, maybe it keeps us in touch with our ancestors, certainly feels right
With enough profanity, you can accomplish anything
