+1

so are hotels :)

okay, serious face............

1 get a tent at least 2person rating more than will be staying in it. one you can stand up in is a bonus
2 bring a chair
3 if your bike cant cope with all your gear, get a bigger bike. dont scrimp on comfort

joking aside i think all ADV bikes and tourers should have a food warmer incorporated in the exhaust. if they can fit in a bleedin great catalyser that nobody wants they can find room for a compartment to fit a standard sized tin.

+1 on the film cannisters - they're great for keeping chopped herbs in as well if you are travelling for a while and planning on cooking for yourself.

When we were travelling in France I used to buy a couple of Pain Au Chocolate in the morning and keep them in my tank bag whilst my mobile phone was in there charging - it produced just enough heat to warm them so they were even tastier when we stopped for 2nd breakfast :)

Use one of these 'Pour & Store' bags and you don't even have to get out the tent to pee.
