Off Road Course

I’ve never ridden off-road and would like to do a one day course somewhere in the South West or Wales. I want someone to teach me the (basic) skills and also lend me a bike – I don’t fancy dropping my wee-strom too many times!!

I see BMW have an Off Road Skills by Simon Pavey, but at £500, it’s a bit steep.

Anyone got any recommendations….

Simon

Plus they most probably need the cash as the roof got blown off their house last month :woohoo:

BMW level 1 best course I did and I still smile... The experience , challenge and fulfilment was worth the cash. ;)

And +3 from me, just have a one-to-one, you will be surprised at how much you will learn in a day. Craig is a great teacher.

I did the Yamaha ORE last year and it was great then my wife booked us both on a day with Mick Extances school a few weeks ago and it was equally as good. Both cost somewhere around £200 for the day including bike hire and I'd say both give equally as good value.

I did the i2i off road course last year: http://www.i2imca.com/
Tom who runs the course is enthusiastic and teaches well. I didn't hire a bike but did have a brief ride on a KTM and it was great.

It was based on a MX course which doesn't give you the same problems when on a trail (no boulders, ruts or mud to get stuck in!). But I picked up some valuable tips and someone else may find it more useful than I did.
