Yea, fairly certain it'll be from the breather going into the airbox, BMW 450 does the same after prolonged WOT or of course if even slightly overfilled, I fitted the zipty alternative breather that takes it from the rocker box cover instead of the crankcase and it almost eliminates the problem, some fit a catch tank as well.
The relocated breather supposedly also prolongues the life of the torque convertor thingy by rerouting the hot gases that otherwise anneal and soften the metal in its construction
I'ts an easy fit as long as you arent scared of drilling big holes in your rocker cover :whistle: :whistle:

My te449 has this oil puking trait. Overfilling and prolonged high revs exacerbate it. Lots on cafe husky about this (on what is a v similar engine)

A couple of weeks ago I got an email from CCM..."A service bulletin" explaining with photos and illustrations the importance of not overfilling the engine with oil.
It outlines the procedure for correctly checking the level and the topping up procedure.

Met another ex CCM owner last evening---that one was junking oil from "up top" -and also failing to start--again the thought was that they are over sensitive to oil level--but IMO should have a proper drain and not junk it all over the engine(as I said before)--conclusion--not mine--was that it wasn't fit for purpose! Did the original BMW GP 450 have all these problems?

It's the first bike I've had with a lithium battery so have nothing to compare against.......but yes it's hard to start (if keeping your finger on the starter is hard ) but it does start.
I saw the e mail & Facebook message regarding overfilling the engine. So far mines good, you have to learn the bike....don't overfill the oil, chain slack 10mm.

I haven't received an email from CCM and couldn't join their Feckbook page, must be blacklisted for not living the dream :pinch:

Is it an enduro bike, a trail bike or a light weight travel bike?
I'm riding mine from Bulgaria to U.K. In five weeks time.
Hopefully it'll be more comfy than my KTM690r was!
There does seem to be more disappointed owners than happy ones.
Are they disappointed because they expected it to be as durable and brilliant as a KTM 450 on more extreme trails?
I'm hoping I'll be able to find out if it is any good next month.
2000/2500 miles of Balkan rough roads/trails, Alpine twisties and rural France. Then a slog up England to Lancashire.
Surely that's the kind of trip the CCM was built for?
