Re: ABR Wales Rally - Register here!
Hello Mate,
I'd not get over hung up on times, fuel stops and everything else. ABR Rally events tend to be very fluid and done for the group. There tends to be a meeting (shouted Oi!!! and a beep of the horn) then told who is doing ride outs, what time and then you go see them. They will be pointed out to you.
We all run the same sort of machines, so if you start with a full tank of petrol then you will not go far wrong
Then on one of the many picture taking opportunities if you find you are running low then tell us and we will all pull into a petrol station.
Many tend to smoke so there are plenty of stops to be had and more often than not the ride will start at 9 - 10am but this depends on the person doing the ride and how pissed they got on the Friday night.
The main organiser tends to wander around doing the welcome bit as people get in on the Friday as will Alun. There is lots of chatting going on and it all gets sorted out very quickly.
So, just grab a tent then Friday night - fuel up ready for a day of fun come Saturday

Cheers James, Im just a bit too anal when it comes to being organised! And I like to get as many hours on new trails as possible. Must learn to slow down a bit and go with the flow.....James691 wrote:Hello Mate,

Totally understand Mate
We all love a full days play, so you can be sure the people that lead the rides will normally be wanting to set off rather early.
This is all done by riders, for free - so there tends not to be any heavy pressure on people and it all works out.
I know for 2012 that Alun is making things a little more organised - with a welcome sheet for people as they get to a rally. Names of people doing ride outs, perhaps a quick welcome message on the Friday evening and so on.
It is all very relaxed at the Rally - some go on the rides in the groups and some bimble off on there own
It is all about having fun with your bike and others that love the same thing - drop a few mph and enjoy the mountain view
Looking forward to seeing you on Friday Dude

Re: ABR Wales Rally - Ride out timings
I'll have guide no1 available from about 10, route etc is up for discussion with the riding group, depending heavily on talent and tyres!

Re: ABR Wales Rally - Register here!
I've called the pub and they do have a TV but not Sky Sports (not an issue as it is not on SB anyway) - asked about 6am open for the game. I will have to speak to the owner who is calling me back at 5pm todayAlun wrote:Craig, how well do you know the landlord at the Britain? The Wales v Ireland 1/4 final is on at 6am Saturday morning, I've just got to see this game.
If not then they will find out from the other local pubs who is putting the game on at 6am with perhaps a big screen.
Shall update after 5pm
