hmy: I brought it new and raced it for a few years but now it’s used mainly for trail riding when I get time, which is mainly in the winter so the rain really does not bother me one bit and on a shitty day theres less walkers about too unlike sunny weather when every man and his dog is about :pinch: Its good in the floods for getting around as the air intake is just under the seat 
getting a bit sick of a few silly old timers wanting everyone to ride old hacks :whistle: remember its how you ride that matters not what you ride but IMHO theres absolutely no need for race number on green lanes (thumbs)

Not sure about the best but +1 for a green 2T, I've had my KDX200SR (Jap import - upsidedown forks, halogen light, 2T tank/pump, etc) for over 18 years and suits my skill (or lack of ) level well. If you don't like a 2T well then the World is yer Lobster! I had one of the first DR350s and flogged it on within a year, too tall and too unwieldy, was my thought at the time and of course... it was a 4T!! Went back to a KMX 125!!(thumbs)
Nowadadays, it is hard to find an all rounder trail bike IMO, but the ideal green laner is a very personal and individual bit of kit, and one that will vary hugely with your riding style and needs.

We were out yesterday on ktm 450's and similar in North Wales on the trails (all legal) and a DR350 would still be out there now. It seems like the older they get the better then get for those with rose tinted spectacles but the newer bikes be it KTM, Yam, Kawasaki, Husky etc kick bikes like a DR into the long grass and then some. Sure, they are (road legal) race bikes, but they can't be beaten on trails, and the combination makes them the best trail bike (thumbs)
