Hi Steve,

If we wanted to go via Dunkirk we could get a DFDS ferry at 10am or 12pm or the next Calais ferry is at 12.15. Personally, I think the 10.15 would be good with timings and distance etc. Also, if we wanted to camp in Holland somewhere on Thursday we can get to Eindhoven by about 5pm - just an idea?

Cheers

Mark

The train would be the better option for me as we'll with both our journeys down to Dover being a long one ans a very early start to get to Dover . I have been chatting to Q plate over the last week or so and he is come down from the midlands and think he was looking at the Thursday crossing . But open to options ?

Thanks
Steve
Tefflon.
Have you been across the channel before? Its a long run down and a ferry crossing is a welcome break TBH

Anyone interested in leaving the Sunday before (19th May) and making a week of it.

My rough plan is to head down towards Basel, up the B500 through the Black Forest, then a big loop east and anticlockwise to the Friday night campsite.

Alternatively could go up the hilly country on the west side of the Rhine and then follow the Mosel to Koblenz and then loop round to the campsite as time allows.

I would be planning on crossing to France from the South Coast.

The B500 towards Baden Baden is a stunning road. I wish I had the time.

Hi Karnevil

I have been over on the ferry some years ago and yes the ferry crossing is a chance to have a rest and chill out .

I have been chatting in hear with MarkN and Qplate and looking at may be catching the 10 15 am crossing as we have a long ride down to Dover about 5 1/2 hours
Qplate about 5ish
And MarkN about 3 1/2

Many thanks
Steve

I'd have gone for an earlier ferry if not for the ride down from manchester and not able to finish work till about 1900 hrs on the 22nd
