Thursday (28th) - off to Newcastle, ferry to Amsterdam, train from s'Hertogenbosch to Livorno then north to the Dolomites and back via southern Germany, the Moselle Valley, Calais and various bits of the UK before home.
First long trip on any bike and first time to Europe on a bike!

Well this Friday morning I leave Towcester, meet up with my brother and a couple of mates at Oxford to head of for a long weekend in France and Belgium. It will be the furthest I have travelled on my bike and the first time I have been abroad for 14 years. Excited and nervous, yes, but at least the others have done this trip a few times. Biggest worry? The kids play up and wind the missus up making it more difficult to get away on the bike. Watch out for report next week!

Sounds a blast. you will love it over the channel. Just remember that roundabouts are done the other way round and the traffic lights are odd. Get used to scanning the right side of your road to see signs and lights etc, sounds odd but your head is used to looking on the left..... Its worst when you get back and you relax a bit. Days later you will wonder what side of the road you are supposed to be on.
Ride safe.................

Cheers. The other guys have assured me that thee is a lot less traffic over there. Should be nice after battling with British MWays!

My first big ride for a couple of years will be to the ABR rally at Ullapool. I've managed to get a weeks pink ticket from the war office and I've already booked my campsites etc for the week.
I've never been to Scotland on the bike and I think I'm going to explode with excitement!
