Sorry fellas, I can't stay quiet any longer.

You are signing up to go on a long ride where the person leading has no idea about your ability, your medical history, your health, your level of fitness or your mechanical ability or how well you look after your bike. You have no idea about the route, how easy or hard it will be, how far from help you will be or what risk you will be subjected to.

This isn't sour grapes, seriously it isn't, but I am really questioning the sanity of this where you are totally in the dark about the trip. Call me a killjoy by all means, but I know first hand how hostile that environment can be when things go wrong, and how quickly the situation goes bad, and how that manifests itself (ie death).

So by all means crack on, but do so with eyes absolutely wide open, and please ask this wibo key questions above as to how this is going to work, what rescue plans there are in place and what medical back up etc. Ask about the difficulty of the route based on your ability, and ask about the overall speed of the riding and the set up ie tail end charlie, radio contact etc.

If you can satisfy yourself that all these things are covered and the risk is measured and covered, then cool, crack on. If not, please take caution.

Bugger me, get a grip , its an adventure site, your lowering the tone with your business type attitude to adventure motorcycling, its a lads trip, you knowing everything :laugh: doesn't really help.

Wibo cheers update on first post , it'll be a hoot , I think at least half of the group know each other , the worries of Mick are appreciated and some valid points , but here's a tale , two years ago went to Cambodia 25 of us , her and 24 blokes of all sorts of ability , the company we used ( who advertise in various uk mags ) got us lost in jungles / mountains God knows how many times and the abilities slowed people , on two occasions it meant dossing in middle of rain forest overnite with no shelter etc , but some had never ridden before , one lad fell off a plank bridge , in pitch black , couldn't see him but could hear him f ing , they had no ability to. Communicate with any help, if we'd had a few shelters it would have been a different story , but in the end it was an absolute hoot , a proper adventure and superb crack , the idea of carrying tents in case of mishaps sounds good , a few nights under the stars even better , Wibo s trips have come highly recommended by one of the guys who has done Hiss , I think as long as everyone knows it'll be dusty , dirty , hot , someone might get the trots , at least some will be able to fix roadside punctures etc , practice makes perfect , I can check out what insurance company we used for rescue etc but I'm sure this has already been tried and tested by previous travellers , I suppose the only issue will be the variation of bikes etc but I don't suppose it's a race , I'm looking forward to it so much I've bought a new dress
