but if so why honda bother with 21 inch front wheel and tubed tyres...
The Honda Africa twin 1000 , warts and all.

And me... I'm drawn to them like a fat kid to a free Mars bar especially the tri-colour B) understand its downfalls but I couldn't see me 'hard' off roading a new 10/11k bike anyway I've got a £1500 husqvarna for that.Scott_rider wrote:The more AT's that I see on the road and parked up in car parks, the more I like the look of them (thumbs) . I heard one with an Akropovic exhaust which sounded very fruity (thumbs) .

Looked at one before going back to BMW
Didn`t like it. Finish wasn`t good, you got nothing with it, everything was a very expensive extra.
Panniers were crap, and rattles, and were badly fitting, and were crap.
Nice looking as a tribute type of thing though. Very bonny

I was surprised with poor finish as well and I find f800gs or r1200gs better put together.Brads wrote:Looked at one before going back to BMW

Somebody did quite well on one at the Hellas Rally this year. He won it I think. Certainly beat scores of 350/450 type enduro bikes. And over 7 days.
It's usually quite a tough race, not overly technical, lots of rocky tracks.
Ask Mike54, he's been there.....I think.
