well after a ride and further testing of the mysterious throttle screw removal i can confirm it needs to go back in place. After the ride i took the throttle apart again to double check if anything was a drift from removing said screw and it appears its job is to stop the cable guide from dislodging inside the housing, the guide helps the cables run from horizontal to vertical and without it the guide slips down and rubs the white plastic throttle inside the housing which i could now see after this test ride. So plan B...............i took the white plastic throttle out and sanded any plastic burs and imperfections and in addition i took a gnats-do-da of the screw spindle by spinning it in a drill and applying a small file to it.....now re installed its removed just enough to give a better throttle movement than before but still supporting the guide........ Bought my new wk 4 weeks ago had it delivered two weeks ago, may have been one of the last ones, paid £1900 with £100 doc fee
Soon as weather picks up I'll have a few photos.
Went with a set of crash bars and a head light protector from quodzilla, decided with the over board waterproof bags with the soft luggage racks

Whilst I think of it, when I changed my fork oil last August the bike had only done ~2000 miles and I was surprised how bad it smelt but more importantly it was dark black and after leaving them upturned for a couple of days I saw serious amount of scum/deposits in the drain tubs and still some deep inside of the stanchions. Probably due to cheaper quality oil or a different type of oil used when assembled in China but was a little concerned at what the scum was doing to the fork internals. I will probably change my oil more frequently in the future until it comes out looking more like normal used fork oil. Until I know what weight fork oil (and air gap) suits me I'm using automatic transmission fluid AFT as its cheaper and found a 4L bottle on ebay for £16 delivered. This Dexron 2 Viscosity at 40°C of 34.9 & 100°C of 6.8 is inbetween fork oils I've used previously on other bikes such as Putolene HPX 7.5W and Silkolene Maintain 10W and at this price I can change it a few times to home in on my ideal weight oil (and mix heavier or lighter weight oil as required)

All oil manufacturers should provide spec sheets online for comparison, but if you want some quick look up charts for comparing oil weights:

http://www.peterverdone.com/archive/fil ... 20oils.pdf

https://transmoto.com.au/comparative-oil-weights-table/

I couldn't find a recommended oil weight, volume or air gap height.
I ended up using ~25ml more in one leg so total was something like 475&500ml or 500&525ml.
With all spacers and springs removed that gave a height of 440mm with forks extended and 180mm with forks collapsed.

A fools.guide to changing any oil when quantatiy is unknown is drain into a measuring jug then refill with a.little more....lol

Maybe the oil was from the takeaway down the road ...

Well White would have indicated water ingress past the seals so I guess Black might be wear particles suspended in the oil?
Unless its chip fat Oil in which case you need to change it after a few months
