The first bike I can recall with something like "adventure' as a model name was the Triumph TR5T Adventurer, also sold as the Trophy Trail.
It had a 500cc single carb twin pot engine and used the rolling chassis of the BSA Victor Trail single.
There was no associated marketing hype, but I always liked the look of it...apart form the silencer

I class myself as an adventure bike rider quite simply because I want to and don't give a toss whether other people agree or disagree.

Have just seen the weather forecast.
I am definitely not going to be an Adventure Rider this weekend.

Heading south Sunday for a few weeks - off to Santander and then somewhere..... no idea where but somewhere....

Does that make me adventurous?
