I plan to continue riding but with CAUTION. On a ‘push’ bike I am confident when the bike skids and slides but haven’t got to that level on a bike yet.

Definitely no ice or snow! Perhaps winter 2014/2015.

Yep,

I do all weathers, snow, ice, rain, gales.

My bike is the cheapest way for me to get to work plus. It takes me an hr on the bike and a 1 1/2hr + on the train and tube,

so I have a daily saving of 1hr at least a day.

That means I can spend 1 extra on the forum, reading the ABR mag that just dropped through the letter box, or chatting to the misses.

Although I must admit I chat to her less now, now I have discovered "World of tanks"!

Oh no...'World of Tanks'.

I spent days on there last year...and i mean days. It is sooooo addictive.

I got to level 9 with a Tank destroyer...sitting behind a wall waiting for the other team to come along and then giving them one up the behind...errr did that sound bad?

All year rider here, 5 usually 6 days a week, every week.
I've been back to only one bike for a while now so the poor varadero has to shoulder the load alone, but does so admirably.
She's a heavy old pig off road though and expensive to drop, so I'm saving for a small enduro to beat up. That should also be better commuting in the snow, at the moment on the odd day its icy/snowy down here I'm lucky enough to be in walking distance of work. Or is that unlucky? Lol

Most people are. Walked to work a few times when snowed in when I lived up in Scotland. 12 miles, takes about 3 1/2 hours, so I was about 2 hours late for work, but the boss appreciated the fact I was there at all, didn't mind the dog lying underneath my desk, and ran me home in his Range Rover at the end of the day. My colleagues hated me for 3 months because a lot of them lived a lot closer, so they got 'if he can get here why can't you' from the boss. LOL.

My wife doesn't work Mondays or Thursdays since September, and I work from home in my current job, so we've got into the habit of me taking 2 hours at lunch and we usually walk for about 7 mile round circuit of the local rights of way. It's a great way to stay fit (or eat more chocolate), de-stress, keeps the dog happy, and spend quality time together walking hand in hand and chatting while the wee one is at school.

Funny how many will happily spend hours walking for pleasure, but wouldn't walk 3 or 4 miles to work if it snowed.

I'm 26 miles from work. Don't fancy walking that! Although I've been thinking of giving it a go on road race bicycle as I think i can cut it down to 22 miles if I take a direct route. Only in summer though. Went out in the snow on the mtb last winter and nearly had a Mega off with no helmet on.

You can see how I crossed the road completely crossed up. The front broke through the ice and pushed sideways. Arms and legs everywhere but kept it upright :)
