Whats the most important bit of kit you carry?
Re: Whats the most important bit of kit you carry?
A small tool kit (used a lot), a traveler's first aid kit (so far never used) and a little fold up Micheline Map (used a lot).

Bike cover. Far and away the best security for an unattended bike in many countries. I know it sounds crazy, but the "out of sight, out of mind" idea works. I even use it when parked in the foyer of some hotels to keep curious fingers away from the controls etc.

The only tools you need are gaffer tape and WD40.
If it moves and it shouldn't, use the gafer tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use the WD40 (possibly with a little persuasion with a blunt instrument)!

First thing I pack is a good torch. Currently a Surefire P60 with an upgraded P61 head.
I know, how sad am I. Am I really a torch geek?!
See, I didn't even mention the Fenix TA20 torch I use as a back up
Next most important thing is tea making kit. Everything looks better when you have a wet on the go B)

Same all the kit/tools in the world are useless or worse if you dont know how to use them!Beam me up wrote:Experience!
Also a map (including knowing were i am) of the area were ever I go! Then its my pocket first aid kit (which includes space blanket, whistle, white glow stick with string, asortment of specific tablets, silva compass and the normal type stuff). That way if something happens I can get to help/get attention! Prep for totally dead bike then if bike works bonus!! Be a good scout and remember 7 P's  And im only 24 how sad
