Seen quite a few myself. Saw 2 in Castellane, southern french alps, several in the black forest germany, one in Lietchenstein of all places, and one in Geneva, while on a recent trip around Europe on the 500x.

Best thing is, I collect mine tomorrow :cheer:

I am not sure how does the quality control work these days at Honda but most of the owners have the two issues , cheapo wheel spokes and the select button ( or more buttons ) on the left side switch gear , me too . Funny thing is that i have never used the button until the word got out so i went to check it and it was sticking . So soon i will have new set of wheels and switchgear .
If ridden hard i managed to get only 100 miles out of the fuel tank before the reserve started flashing .
Now to the good points , the bike is great , on road it keeps up with with just about anything ( but only just ).
Of the tarmac i have to say that the bike its very capable , actually my skills are far behind of what this thing is capable of :woohoo: bloody awesome , the first service was done , i will be getting new set of wheels so not worried about hitting the big rocks and i felt brave so i went for it , the faster you go the better it all works . I had to stop few times and wait for the rest of the gang to catch up ( GSA and Transalp ) cannot wait to get some proper tyres , the oem rubber sucks of road .
i would say one more thing to those that are considering this bike , if you plan to only ride on road don't bother with this bike there are better options out there , only buy one if you plan on taking it on to the rough stuff .

Any of you lot doing this on your ATs. Didn't think this guy was that good. Foot down on a stopie

Objectivity and honesty. That's what we need when we are reading about a new bike. Many owners having spent that on a new bike brainwash themselves into believing it's amazing at everything (CCM ring any bells?). Journalists can be objective but they don't spend enough time/miles on the bike.

. Personally I purchased the bike in November without seeing it, I don't read read MCN, the sun rag of motorcycling . Honda have been working on the AT for over 7 years ,after that period of time you would have thought it would have all the problems fixed ?. On a positive note today I was told Honda will be paying for the fitting of courtesy RNS tripmaster ...

.i just noticed today corrosion on the spokes also pitting on the rims.. just under 600 miles on it. .

was on the africa twin forum...many complaints on corroded spokes and a few have already been assured that Honda will replace their wheels...

Blimey, I'm surprised by the number of issues. FoR such an important bike for Honda (considering all the hype before it was released) have they really built this bike down to a price?

Surely Honda cannot be thinking of fitting stainless steel spokes, they are not as strong as the standard steel variety.
Where is the new Africa twin made?
