But she still is excited by finally getting the courage up to get on the pegs... think a few more people got to do it standing up this weekend. Just wish I had checked the bearing when I replaced the paralever bearings back in April so I could have got to play as well

Re: ABR Midlands Rally 19th - 21st Aug
A real big thanks to Alun and crew for putting in place what turned out to be a great rally.
At last Sophie met "the geeks off the forum" and was able to put some faces to the names I speak about! And got her first ride in a sidecar, thanks Nick :woohoo:
It was brilliant to see everyone ive met before and ride with some (except one bloke with a stripey bike who can be a right miserable bastard sometimes
 ) and to meet some new faces(too many names to mention but you all know who you are), we could have done with another day as there was others who I would have liked to have chatted with but it just flew by!
Thanks for the Green Lane tour Alun, although simple it was varied and I was amazed some of the trails we covered where allowed, but some real hidden gems
I struggled with going on it with what ever is up with my back ( but each time we hit a trail the Adrenlin kicked in and masked the pain) and the bike was groaning too, which got worse on the ride up to Anglesey and ended up limping the last bit! The rear head is blowing or a burnt valve so engine out tomorrow night
Ive now got to make a decision between Ulapool rally or an Elefant only off road trip in Italy?
THANKS Marc & Soph

Re: ABR Midlands Rally 19th - 21st Aug
Looks fantastic, I'm annoyed at myself for missing it now, I'm sorely tempted to ride up anyway to have an ABR meet of my own. Now to find a map and work out where all the green lanes are; unless someone posts them of course.

Re: ABR Midlands Rally 19th - 21st Aug
A big thanks to everyone for organising this one - another great gathering. Looking at these shots and hearing about the ride out, I'm a little dissapointed that I could only get there by midday on Saturday, but I'm pleased I made the long run up on a number of levels.
Great to see you all again, and it is a shame that life will be getting in the way of living - and I won't be able to get to any other ones this year. Still as meatloaf said, 2 out of 3 ain't bad (so far!).
When I get back home next month I'll start looking at options for a 'Barcelona Burn' (other suggested names welcomed) for later in 2012 - and we can start bouncing some ideas around on the forum. But I hope to see you again before then!
Many thanks again.

I won't bore ya'll with a detailed RR, (hurrayI hear you cry) anyway I'm really not up to it as I'm still struggling with my shoulder and arm which is totally [strike]fu[/strike] sorry knackered at the moment.
So instead you'll have to look at some pictures.
NB Before I go any further, if your in a pic and want a copy, PM me your e mail address and I'll fire a copy over to you; also there are one or two peeps who's names I don't know, so apologies in advance, if there's a general reference in the captions.
RV with James (Ipswichbiker) all packed and ready for the off.
Tents up and camp filling up nicely.
Craig going for a blast on the beautiful Repsol AT.
Early on Friday, chillin and chattin.
The site had acres of fields to play in, which Alun took time to show us around...
What a playground!
Alun on the Tenere.
Dave C aboard his XR 250, and Sue on her lovely CRF 230 enjoying the play areas.
Always time for a brew.
Day 2 and people are gathering around for a cuppa and a chat.
A fag break at the end of a trail.
Some of the lads having a chat.
James on his Vara, clearing a Ford.
Team Orange, 'KTM Dan' a pair of beautiful KTM'S (so easy I can do it with my eyes shut!"
Apologies for not knowing your names guy's.
Another successful crossing, with Bryn getting the TTR wet behind.
Mick and the 1200GS, exiting.
Stanbloke fording aboard the KTM.
Our TEC Tramp, who deserves a special mention, thanks mate a great job; like a good shepherd you never lost one of us despite the huge numbers.
Mart? exiting.
I'll bet this town has never seen so many ABR's in all it's existance.
Finally, a very big thank you to Alun Dave, and the team, excellent location, excellent ride outs, and of course the cast of plenty; (Hundreds would have been an exaggeration but you know what I mean) it's you guy's that make these things so memorable for all the right reasons, I haven't had a craic like that in ages.
Oh and one last thing... The collective for a group of ABR's, has got to be a herd.
The snoring was like a herd of Bison!
A true Adventure indeed.
Thank you one and all.
