I’m used to my bikes being a lot faster then my cars, so I changed my R1250GS for an S1000XR in February as the GS felt a bit slow after I took delivery of my new Tesla Model 3 Long Range company car :oops: The XR is a lot faster at the top end, but lacks the midrange grunt of the GS. I kinda wished I’d kept my GS now….

Just sold an XJR 1300.
rediculous bike really. Had a bigger engine than the mrs car although it was ulez compliant which is odd.
Used up more fuel warming up than actually riding it, gave me neck ache and burned my knees on the engine but still felt an enormous sense of loss when she went.

That's a shame, they're great bikes, I've had several over the years and still have the 1999 SP I bought new some 24 yrs ago. Haven't used it for 10 yrs but just can't get rid of it.... so many good memories 🙂 It WILL get back on the road. One day.

Sold my 916 for 3k as I wanted a xt660z

Sold my 450 exc rfs cos I bought a 250xc to go faster.

Sold my xr600 before that cos I bought the 450 to race.

Bloody regret selling all of them cos they've all gone up in value, some a lot more than others. If I had the room I'd never sell a bike again.

I had to sell my house with a large garage
=> Not enough space
=> No place to work on projects

I wanted to travel much more
=> No time for all the projects

Some projects finished
=> Needed some cash

What I sold:
  • Harley Davidsson DL 750, 1929
    Harley Davidsson C 500 cc, 1930
(I still have a WL 750, 1943 )

  • Kawasaki GTR 1000
    Moto Guzzi 1000
(I have a Kawasaki GTR 1400 as sportstourer)

  • Kawasaki H2, 750 cc -73
(I have a Suzuki GT 750 (1972) and a Kawasaki S2, 350 cc (1973) as 2-strokes)
This was actually the last that I sold. No enough space. And the engine needed work.
I miss it.....

  • GSX-R 1100
(No use for that when travelling. I have no real substitute. But a GSX 1100 -81 with big block)
