+1 for metzeler tourance.I have had them on my 2008 GS Adventure for the last 3 years and I find them good tyres.
We tour 2 up and I have found then good in the dry and the wet!

I don't have a GS but what I can say is that "Michelin Pilot Road 3" are superb for not only mileage but for grip. I'm on my second set on the Fazer 1000, on the first set I got about 9000 miles which I was simply amazed at because I do ride it a bit hard .
(They are a pure road tyre so would be useless on the dirt).

I know I am a bore about it, but there is no such thing as a "50/50" tyre. There is a road tyre, and there is an offroad tyre, there are no in betweens despite what tyre makers marketing departments would like you to buy into.

Isn't there a K60 without the central band; the K60 Scout? Still not sure they're much use compared to something like a TKC80 offroad. They're not so bad on road; but prefer Tourances.

Chap I knew had his tyres on for 5 years :whistle: ... but then he only rode when it had been dry for a week and above 12deg C :whistle: One year he did 50 miles :pinch:

I've just bought a pair of original Tourances as we are going away at the weekend and the current front would have been totally knackered on the way back. In the UK I would have been happy to use it a bit longer but I don't want to be searching for tyres whilst abroad and wasting valuable holiday time. The current rear is a Chinese made Tourance with just over 7k miles on it and although it has flattened off down the centre it still has 3.5mm of tread left at the worst point so it'll last for another 3k miles.
So looking at the numbers I'm happy with the 15k+ I get from a front and 10/11k miles from the rear.

Some amount of shite talked about tyres is there not?

The Scout is the one with the central bead. It is only the big tyres that have it. Like for the GSA, S10 etc. The smaller ones (for smaller bikes) are normal block pattern.

Just about to replace my Anakee 3's with the Anakee 2's on my Explorer. (Unless I can be convinced otherwise) Not been too impressed with the 3's as the rear's started to square off, but which has worn far better than the front which has stepped really badly. That's after about 6.5k.

Just to throw another tyre into the mix have a look at Avon Trailriders very good in the wet and dry.
